It’s a great week to be a Wildcat.
Several Springfield High School students have advanced to the state championships in their respective sports and extracurricular activities. Each of these individuals and teams will be competing this week to be the leaders in their craft, making for an exciting week as the District cheers these students to victory!
The SHS Mock Trial Teams are headed to Columbus beginning on Thursday – with the Varsity team eager to defend their championship from 2024. Despite losing several seniors to graduation, Mock Trial has proven their talent and dedication this season.
Varsity Wrestler Royce Rogers advanced to the OHSAA State Championship Tournament and will compete in his first match on Friday. Rogers is the first Wildcat wrestler to reach State since 2018.
Two Indoor Track athletes will cap off the week at the Indoor State Championship at Spire Academy. Braylon Keyes will be competing in the 60M hurdles, and Tierra Johnson will be vying for the top spot in the high jump.
“To have not one – but three groups of students rise to this level of success speaks to the diverse and widespread talent present in our District,” said SCSD Superintendent Dr. Bob Hill. “Our students continue to make a name for themselves and our schools, ensuring that ‘Wildcat Pride’ is known around the state of Ohio and beyond. I wish each of them the best of luck this week!”
