Please be on the lookout for important details about your child's shopping date which will also include information about the shop. Shopping will take place during school hours. Thank you to Snowhill Boosters for providing this opportunity to all of our students.  Dogs/Pets: As a reminder, due to a variety of safety needs, dogs and pets are not permitted on school property during arrival and dismissal. We appreciate everyone's attention to this matter.  Parking: Several community businesses have reached out requesting that their parking lots be reserved for their clients. Please refrain from parking in business lots during both arrival and dismissal as you are at the risk of being towed. Kindergarten Playground: To ensure continued safety during our dismissal process, please note that the Kindergarten playground is not accessible for play until after 3:20 each day. SCSD App: All of the news and events from SCSD buildings -- right at your fingertips! As a continuation of our new website, the District has launched an accompanying mobile app that buildings will be able to use as a tool to communicate with students and families. The app can be downloaded for both Apple and Google users.  Booster News-- Looking for ways to volunteer and get involved? Please reach out to Snowhill Boosters: snowhillboosters@yahoo.com Volunteer Policy: Are you interested in volunteering at Snowhill? Throughout the remainder of the year, opportunities for parents to volunteer and assist in the classroom could arise. If this interests you, please complete the district's Volunteer Training program. Information about the program can be found here: https://www.scsdoh.org/page/volunteers. As opportunities present themselves, we will contact those who have completed the training. Monthly Character Trait for October: "PERSEVERANCE"- Our students are spending time discussing and learning about our character trait of the month. Please take a moment to ask your child what it means to be responsible at school. Leader in Me Monthly Focus: Habit 3-- PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST- All students are working hard at being leaders as they are learning how to PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST in all aspects of life. All of our classes have been discussing ways that each student can be a leader in the building. We hope that each Wildcat family has a wonderful week. Weekly Success Highlight: As we continue to learn and grown, we will take time each week to highlight success. A building goal this year is for students to spend time, each week, and work towards their "Personalized Instruction Lessons" on the iReady platform. Students are tasked with completing two lessons, per subject, per week. The goal is for students to achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on each lesson. As you know, it is imperative that students are on time and ready to learn each day. We would like to CONGRATULATE the following grade levels for having at least 95% attendance last week: 2nd Grade with 96% attendance 5th Grade with 95% attendance Honorable mention to our Kindergarten students who's average attendance for the week was at 94.43% We hope that each Wildcat family has a wonderful week. REMINDER-- Picture retake day is Monday, November 6th! Students having their picture retaken should bring the first picture packet back with them. Any students that missed picture day will get their picture taken. Parents can order online at shop.hrimaging.com or pick up an order form in the office.

Then select 'Menu' in the bottom left corner and choose 'Dining' where you can view the menu for each day of the month. Support our District Hygiene Drive! Bring in a donation of new hygiene items to the Buffalo Wild Wings in Springfield and receive a coupon for 6 free boneless wings. Items needed include soap, body wash, toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrushes, mouthwash, shampoo, body spray & women's hygiene supplies. In addition, if you dine in at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight (4-8 p.m.), 15% of food sales will be donated back to the District. Please let your server know you are dining for the fundraiser. REMINDER
Springfield High School Head Basketball Coaches Matt Yinger and Terry Toliver are providing Springfield City School District families with a unique youth basketball opportunity this fall. The Springfield City Youth League will begin Monday, Sept. 18! This 5-week league features both instruction and game play and will be open to 2nd-6th grade boys and girls in the SCSD (Note: Although open to both boys and girls, the league is not co-ed). Register ASAP to reserve your spot! All proceeds from the league directly benefit the SHS basketball programs.
