COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY: All high school students (ages 13-18) are invited to the Clark County Public Library for a weekly 'Brain Break' with calming activities such as drawing, coloring and board games. Sessions are held every Wednesday from 3:30-5 PM at the Main Library's Lenski Program Room (201 S. Fountain Avenue).

COMMUNITY OPPORTUNITY: Submit an entry for the Clark County Public Library's Spooky Short Story contest! The contest is open to students between 6-18 years old. The winner in each age group will receive a trophy and the opportunity to share their story in person. Thursday, 9/26 - Soccer Moms & BBQ Dads - Dress like the classic sport-supporting mom or grill-master dad. Friday, 9/27 - Wildcat Pride - Wear your Wildcat gear to school then head to the Homecoming game to watch our football team take on Springboro and the crowning of king and queen during halftime. SHS Wildcat Theatre is proud to present The Outsiders, based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton, live at the John Legend Theater! Performances are Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 pm and Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2 pm. Tickets are $7 for students and senior citizens, $10 for adults.

The SHS Homecoming Dance is September 28th from 8-11 P.M. at Springfield High School. Tickets will be sold during lunch September 23-27th. Tickets will be $15.00. Tickets will also be sold at CTC and SOI September 23-27th during lunches. Guest forms will be available the week of September 16th- 20th in the counselors’ and main offices. Forms are due to the main office by September 23.

Don't miss Springfield High's Open House tomorrow from 4-7 PM! Families are invited to visit the building, meet staff and learn about the clubs and extracurricular activities available to students. Visitors will be given a passport when they arrive. If they have the passport signed by all the designated places and stamped by a member of the Lighthouse Team, they will receive one free admission per family to Girls Soccer or Volleyball -- both of which have home games tomorrow night!

Good luck to SHS senior, Alysha Vlcek, who is competing in the Pig Scramble at the Clark County Fair! Alysha is the first SCSD student to ever compete in the event. The scramble will be held at 6 PM on Friday, July 26 at the Fairground Grandstands. Consider coming out to support Alysha or the other SCSD students showing projects during Fair Week (July 19-26)!
