The Springfield City School District’s Business Advisory Council (BAC) was awarded a two-star rating by the State of Ohio for its practices that create dynamic, career-focused learning environments for students.
The District was one of just 39 school districts or educational service centers in the state to receive a distinction for the high level of service provided by its business advisory council.
What is a Business Advisory Council? How does it benefit SCSD students?
At its core, a BAC brings together leaders within the District and the greater community to create a more proactive education system that is tailored to the region’s economic drivers and future employee needs.
A major outcome of SCSD’s council has been more work-based learning opportunities for students and enduring partnerships between the District’s schools and local industries.
The District’s BAC members vary widely in their professions, with local representation from The City of Springfield, Mercy Health Foundation, Clark State College, McGregor Metalworking, Woeber Mustard Company, Sheehan Brothers Vending, Bricker Graydon Law, The Greater Springfield Partnership, Midland Properties & Park National Bank.
