SPRINGFIELD, OHIO – The Springfield City School District has selected Ms. Lisa Cunningham as the new Springfield High School (SHS) Lead Principal.
Cunningham, who is a Springfield native, has spent 23 years in the District, serving in various roles – with the most recent being as an administrator at SHS.
There will be another new leader at the School of Innovation (SOI), where Ms. Kathleen Lee will assume the role as principal. Lee, who is also a Springfield native, has been an educator and administrator in the District for over 30 years. She also most recently served as an administrator at SHS.
SOI is the second option for high school students in the District and focuses on student success through project-based learning as opposed to traditional classroom instruction.
“With these two at the helm of our high school education programs, I have no doubt that we will see growth within our students and the District as a whole,” said SCSD Superintendent Dr. Bob Hill. “They know this District, they know our kids and they are both experienced educators and passionate advocates when it comes to our schools succeeding. I look forward to hearing their ideas and supporting them in these new leadership roles.”
